Charles, According to the current covenants: they will automatically renew every 10 years if a group of amendments to change them is not passed. They allow for a member vote, ( usually conducted at the members meeting) or a special meeting set just to address covenants changes/amendments vote. Being as how we have little attendance from the community at regular board meetings ( last meeting in April, we only had 12 members attend), the larger membership meeting is the best option. As the current covenants sit we are not able to conduct a membership meeting if we do not have at least 15 members in good standing, but they do allow for a special meeting to be conducted. I (personally) would only call for a special meeting to change covenants if the annual meeting is unable to be conducted due to lack of attendance.
